We have some exciting news! Thanks to a grant from the Petco foundation we now have a spay-and-neuter subsidy for cats, and we have received a generous grant from the DJ&T Foundation (founded by Bob Barker) for the spaying and neutering of dogs!
The focus of this program is Robertson and Cheatham counties, as well as some of the surrounding area. The idea is to fill the void that larger cities like Nashville have already begun to address. Please note that due to grant restrictions this is ONLY for owned cats and dogs of the general public, but it is not limited to low-income people.
As fellow animal lovers in these areas, we would like to ask for your assistance in getting the citizens in touch with our program as quickly as possible. The DJ&T grant can be used up and reapplied for prior to 12months! Also, needless to say, the sooner we get them spayed and neutered, the better for everyone!
So far, we have worked with clients in areas such as Pleasant View, Cedar Hill, and Springfield. Basically, we pay what the owner cannot. We have a list of vets that we work with, such as Value Vet on Gallatin Pike, which is about 23 minutes from our rescue in Pleasant View! It's close enough that many owners are even willing to take their own pets!
We know some of you volunteer frequently with animal control. If an owner surrenders puppies OR kittens, we will help the owner immediately get his or her pets fixed so that person never brings a litter in again! This is a very important target area!
